They also hate meta decks because those decks usually win long before Johnny's cool combo piece can go off.ĭepending on what type of player you are, will determine if you think facing meta decks is a problem. They like meta decks because they can test their validity of their combo piece. Hostage decks, Exodia Type decks, milling the opponent by making them draw their entire deck using plunder and draw effects? That's their jam. Johnny players like pulling off cool combos.
They want to play against meta decks because that's where the real competition is.
They've already won by the loading screen. However, a Spike player isn't really interested in playing against a meme-tier deck, because it's not a test of their skill or abilities. We fundamentally do not play the same card game as each other. Further, they think about, and play the game differently than I do. Who can execute whose game plan first? Spike players are getting a different enjoyment out of the game. I don't like playing against meta decks because they are as un-interactable as possible. Where my cards are interacting with their cards, we are making blocks, using combat tricks, and grinding each other down. The fun of LOR for me is during the field of play. Sometimes I like to try and find a combo that works within those realms that pulls off something kind of neat. So I like decks that have lots of interactions, play fun themed units like Elites, Lux, Darius, Reputation Noxus and dragons. Look I'm a Timmy/Johnny player right? Further, I'm a tactical player. This explains why people have such divisive opinions on meta decks and the problem facing LOR in general.
