A one-hour unscripted comedy series produced for ABC by BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production arm, When Nature Calls looks at the lighter side of the natural world, the program features guest comedians putting words into the mouths of animals, birds and reptiles. The first new program that premieres on June 24 – three days after the summer solstice – is the Helen Mirren-hosted wildlife comedy series When Nature Calls. The same night as Private Eyes rolls out its final season opener the return of Big Brother precedes the private detective duo with a special 90-minute kickoff to its 23rd season, once again hosted by Julie Chen Moonves and produced by Fly On The Wall Entertainment in association with Endemol Shine North America.īeginning July 11, Global viewers will get a weekly triple fix of the elimination series on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. joined by Rachel Ancheril, Jordan Connor, Katie Uhlman and Humberly Gonzalez. In addition to being a consistent ratings driver for Global, the eOne and Piller/Segan-produced series has also been top seller for international rights holder eOne for the past five years. Noting Private Eyes‘ worldwide public significance, Troy Reeb, executive VP, broadcast networks, Corus Entertainment hailed the private detective show as “five seasons and 60 episodes of exceptional storytelling and an undeniably talented cast.”
On the first official day of summer – June 21 – the sophomore season of the original Global medical drama Nurses scrubs in for 10 episodes (9 p.m.), while on July 7, the fifth and swansong season of Private Eyes starring Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson begins its conclusive run at a special time, 9:30 p.m. Global has cemented its summer schedule with the returns of the fifth and final season of Private Eyes, season two of Nurses and a bevy of new original series and reality TV.
